This holiday season I’d like to remind everyone to stop and take a moment to breathe. Please keep these few simple things in mind when you head out shopping for your loved ones this year: 1.)Keep in mind that everyone is human and everyone makes mistakes, even cashiers. 2.)Please realize that many cashiers are only there to work the registers and they may not be aware of what is in an ad, or what a sign says; if something rings up more than what is advertised there is no reason to shout- cashiers want you to have a pleasant shopping experience and they want to have a good day at work, just advise them that a sign or ad needs to be checked, KINDLY.3.)Many people that you will encounter behind the registers this year are seasonal helpers and they are NEW, so they may not know all the policies in place, take a deep breathe and ASK FOR A MANAGER.
4.) Cashiers want to help you, but sometimes, there are situations out of their control and more times than not, they don’t have the authority to do what you’re asking; Keep calm and ASK FOR A MANAGER.
5.)Any issue you have can be solved at a lower decibel level as well, please don’t shout.6.)Coupons are a pain in the butt with all the exclusions and I can say that Cashiers are just as frustrated that they can’t be used on everything. Cashiers did not make up the coupons and what can and cannot be used so please, BE KIND. 7.)Cashiers do not create store policies, please, BE KIND. If there’s an issue, ask for a manger. 8.)Lines are going to be long and we are all human beings, Cashiers are trying their best, BE KIND. 9.) Remember that these Cashiers are someones daughter or son, niece or nephew, mom or dad, grandma or grandpa…BE KIND.
It will be a wonderful season if everyone keeps these few simple things in mind when they go out this year. Relax, take a deep breathe, and BE KIND. We are all human beings and we all mean something to someone.
